Sander Vanhove is a very dedicated independent game developer living in Ghent, Belgium. He's always excited to participate in game jams and has too many ideas for main projects.
Sander started out designing games from the moment he got a graphical calculator. He would spend most of math class working on little experiments and cloning popular games like Mario and Pokemon. From the age of 18 he became a counselor at his local Chiro, a Belgian youth organisation, where he would create many different games and activities to entertain the kids.Getting serious
After releasing his first game, Give Me Bread, on Android, he took some years off of creating games to focus on his master studies. With a stable job he was ready to dive head first into game development again. First, he partnered up with a good friend to create VR experiences and do some contracting work. In 2021 he decided to work part time to have more time for game development and participated in a game jam every month of the year to hone his skills and let the creative juices flow. All of this while working on his main project, Silent Dot, for a year.Future
Sander's dedication leads him to constantly learn new techniques, read a massive amount of books and try out little experiments. Recently he vowed to always create games with purpose and meaning to hopefully help or touch people's lives in some meaningful way.
I do some micro vlogging here and there. YouTube
